The Supporting People Programme is overseen by the Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty.

Supporting People National Advisory Board

The Supporting People National Advisory Board (SPNAB) brings together representatives from across different policy areas to provide advice to the Minister. Its purpose is to ensure that the SP Programme is focused on meeting the housing related needs of vulnerable people.

Regional Collaborative Committees

Regional Collaborative Committees (RCCS) bring together stakeholders at a regional level. Their role is to make recommendations to the Welsh Government on Supporting People spending in their region.

There are 6 RCCs across Wales

Each RCC is comprises representatives from local authorities, health, The Wales Community Rehabilitation Company (formerly Probation), Supporting People service providers and landlords. Provider representatives are not on the RCC to give their own view; they are there to reflect the views of providers.

RCCs are responsible for producing a Regional Commissioning Plan for Supporting People services. This takes account of regional priorities and identifies the most effective way to meet regional needs.

Welsh Government funds 6 Regional Development Coordinators (RDCs) to support the work of the RCCs and to ensure information flows effectively between the members of the RCC, and that there are good reporting arrangements to the Welsh Government.

Joint National Supported Housing and Provider Network

This is a quarterly joint forum held between Cymorth Cymru and Community Housing Cymru (CHC). It allows provider and landlord reps to come together to share issues/best practice. It allows us to give the reps updates and feed their views on the wider national picture into our influencing work.

The morning session is held with CHC’s Supported Housing forum and is open to provider reps, landlords, Regional Development Coordinators, Supporting People Information Network and Welsh Government. The afternoon is a closed session for reps only.
