With more attendees than ever before, Power to the People? has been described as our “best conference yet!”
Our Annual Conference brought together delegates from the Housing-related Support and Health Sectors – helping to bridge the gap between services provided for vulnerable people in Wales.
It's fair to say that Tyrone O'Sulivan was the star of this year's conference with his session on the workers buyout of Tower Colliery – leaving delegates in no doubt as to the answer to the question: Power to the People?
The conference also hosted Dr Paul Thomas from BBC's “Ban the Boss” series whose session highlighted the benefits of “leading” rather than “managing” and empowering staff to improve services. Conference day two also hosted Ed Mayo from Cooperatives UK speaking on the Coop model and how it can deliver lasting change for whole communities.
Power to the People also covered a number of "hot topics" such as a progress update on the Review into Housingrelated Support and the changes in Housing Benefit. Many of these presentations, are now available to download from the links below.
