- 26th May 2011
- Media Resource Centre, Llandrindod Wells

Developing specialist accommodation is always more of a challenge than general needs social housing and the current public spending situation means it's even more so. This one day conference will explore the changing needs we want to meet in Wales and showcase innovative approaches and partnerships from across Wales and the UK developed to meet the housing, care and support needs of vulnerable people within this challenging financial context.
Key themes include:
- Providing training and employment opportunities through the development of specialist housing
- Developing holistic services for homeless people
- Working in partnership to design and develop better services
- Combining different funding streams to develop accommodation in challenging financial times
- Developing housing, care and support services for older people without subsidy
What is it?
For the first time in Wales, this event will bring together commissioners, providers and all other stakeholders involved in developing specialist accommodation for vulnerable people. The event will offer the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others, discuss some of the key issues and network with other organisations involved in the design and development of specialist housing.
