They are permanent positions for 37 hours per week Working days are predominately Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, but flexibility is required as you may on some occasions work outside these days/ hours to support individuals who work and in case of emergencies We offer a holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays, sick pay, and excellent pension options You need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for this role and you will also require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

We are looking for an engaging and compassionate person who is experienced in delivering housing related support, to join our Housing First team. Do you have strong leadership skills? Are you flexible and resilient with an innovative approach to problem solving? Can you be a positive role model for the clients we support and make a real difference to their lives? Our Housing First service delivers intensive support to people living rough on the streets with the goal to move them into a tenancy and empower them to live independently. This role will involve you predominantly working in the Rhondda Cynon Taff area with individuals who are currently sleeping rough. You will be responsible for carrying out housing and support assessments whilst working closely with individuals to ensure resettlement and that the right support is provided. What is great about the role? The Housing First Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Housing First clients receive appropriate assessment of their housing issues. You will assist clients to find and maintain a safe and secure home through the local Housing First Landlord Network or any other suitable alternative. The role can be challenging but rewarding. You will have a chance to develop and introduce a more effective and supportive approach to dealing and responding to problematic behaviour, as well as finding creative solutions to working with clients with complex needs. A new approach can be difficult to achieve but can make the difference between someone returning to the streets or being able to move on from homelessness for good.

Our Housing First service is an innovative evidence-based approach to successfully support people affected by street homelessness with complex needs and histories of entrenched or repeat homelessness to live in their own homes. It focuses on finding permanent housing as quickly as possible and then addressing the issues that have contributed to an individual’s homelessness. The role will require excellent inter-personal skills which will enable you to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people. The post holder will be empathetic and caring with the ability to put people at ease without being judgemental and be assertive when necessary with the ability to work calmly and patiently in stressful situations.
