Welsh Government: Update to COVID-19 symptoms

The four UK Chief Medical Officers have published new guidance on COVID-19 symptoms, which now include anosmia - the loss or a change in your normal sense of smell. It can also affect your sense of taste as the two are closely linked.

Wales Women in Justice Programme: Service Delivery Mapping Exercise

The All Wales Women in Justice Board are undertaking an exercise to map the current service delivery offer for women in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system in Wales. This will enable the Board to understand what additional support may be needed at this time, and to capture innovative practice in the way that services have adapted to respond to the needs of women during COVID-19.

Welsh Government Written Statement: Covid-19 Testing

The Welsh Government Minister for Health and Social Services has published a written statement to announce that the four UK Governments are opening a new website for people with symptoms of coronavirus eligible to book a home test. 


Testing weekly update: 19 May 2020

The Welsh Government has published its weekly update about the number of people tested for COVID-19 in Wales up to 17 May 2020. This includes the number of people tested from different categories of key workers. 


Welsh Government guidance: Key workers

The Welsh Government has updated their Critical Worker Testing Policy and has added further detail to its list of key / critical workers - this now includes:

  • Third sector workers in an NHS or care setting
  • Front line Local Authority workers, council workers, third sector workers and umbrella organisations working with vulnerable children and adults, victims of domestic abuse, and the homeless and rough sleepers (and hotel staff supporting these groups, see Key Public Service Workers)
  • Services providing front line substance misuse treatment

The Welsh Government has published information and guidance on drive-through testing centres and mobile units for key workers across Wales.
