Welsh Government guidance: Managing challenging and anti-social behaviour in temporary accommodation

The Welsh Government has published new guidance about managing challenging and anti-social behaviour in temporary accommodation - this can also be applied in other services such as hostels and supported accommodation. The guidance is accompanied by two decision flowcharts, which can be downloaded here

Cymorth has published a report which illustrates how organisations across the homelessness, housing and support sector have encouraged people to comply with social distancing guidance, hygiene practices and self-isolation. This includes sections on communicating information, making practical changes, providing essential items, keeping active and staying connected.

Welsh Government guidance: To help frontline staff to support tenants during COVID-19

The Welsh Government has published a guidance document for frontline staff to help them to support tenants during the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes information on welfare support, help for people to pay bills and living costs, emergency funds, and how to get help if people are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. 


Welsh Government announcement: Fines increased for repeat lockdown breaches in Wales

The Welsh Government has announced that the maximum fine for repeated breaches of the coronavirus lockdown rules in Wales will rise from £120 to £1,920. Details of the new fines structure can be found here


Extraordinary funding for domestic abuse and sexual violence services in South Wales

The Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales will be distributing extraordinary funding from the Ministry of Justice. This is for domestic abuse and sexual violence services in light of the additional costs incurred during COVID-19. The closing date is 12 noon on 1st June 2020.

Infection Control Information and Guidance

In addition to guidance on which type of PPE to use in homelessness, housing and support settings, the Public Health Wales Advisory Note also includes some useful links to information about PPE use and waste disposal during the COVID-19 pandemic.


Public Health Wales report: Public views of COVID-19 measures and wellbeing

Public Health Wales has published its latest report about the results of its Public Engagement Survey on Health and Wellbeing during the COVID-19 pandemic. This survey explored people's views on the measures taken to reduce the spread of the virus and follows previous reports which focused on wellbeing. 


Centre for Mental Health briefing: Trauma, mental health and coronavirus

The Centre for Mental Health has recently published a briefing about trauma, mental health and coronavirus, which explores the ideas of collective trauma and healing, and what the process of recovery may look like.
