Reminder: Welsh Government phase 2 homelessness guidance 

Last week the Welsh Government published guidance for phase two of Wales' response to homelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic. This sets out their vision for the transformation of homelessness services in Wales and how local authorities and their partners should meet the longer term housing and support needs of the ~800 people accommodated during the pandemic.

Welsh Government: Summary note from phase 2 homelessness webinar

On 28 May the Welsh Government held a web event to launch phase two of their response to homelessness during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was opened by the Minister for Housing and Local Government, with speakers from the Welsh Government, Cardiff Council, ClwydAlyn, Cymorth and Housing Justice Cymru. The Welsh Government has now published a short summary of the event. 

Guidance for providers of adult social care services during the COVID-19 pandemic 

The Welsh Government has published guidance to assist service providers and others interpret changes to Regulations for adult social care services during COVID-19. The Regulations, which came into force on 5 June 2020, principally affect providers of care home services for adults but also have direct relevance for providers of domiciliary support services. 

Welsh Government: Safety and physical distancing signs for employers

The Welsh Government has published a series of resources to help employers to keep their workplace safe. This includes posters to encourage clean work spaces, maintaining safe distances at work and spotting the symptoms. All of the posters are available in Welsh, English and bilingually.

Welsh Government announcement: NHS Wales digital services to continue

The Welsh Government has announced that many of the digital services introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic will continue, following positive feedback from patients and clinicians. 

Welsh Government: Clarification about which social care staff will receive £500

The Welsh Government has provided further information about which social care staff will receive £500 in recognition of their work during this pandemic. All eligible social care staff, including ancillary staff, such as cleaners and kitchen staff; nurses employed in care homes; domiciliary care workers and personal assistants who worked between 15 March and 31 May will receive the £500 extra payment. 

National Probation Service Wales: Letter about Probation Recovery Roadmap

The Divisional Director for the National Probation Service in Wales has published a letter about their Probation Recovery Roadmap, which has been developed following UK and Welsh Government proposals on lifting COVID-19 restrictions. The letter is available in Welsh and in English

Tai Pawb web event: All Wales Covid-19 Workforce Risk Assessment Tool Event 

Tai Pawb are holding a web event on 10th June with guest speaker, Prof Keshav Singhal MBE, Chair of the Welsh Government Risk Assessment subgroup, which is part of the rapid investigation into BAME COVID-19 deaths. They will discuss how to use the tool and ways to introduce additional protecting measures and adapt working practices to protect BAME and other vulnerable staff.
