The Welsh Government has confirmed it will provide a further £22.7m to local authorities to assist adult social care providers with the additional costs of COVID-19 from July to the end of September.

Following representations from Cymorth and Care Forum Wales about the delays during the first tranche of funding, part of the new funding will be allocated via a temporary national flat rate fee increase. This, and much more information about the funding, is contained within guidance circulated by the Welsh Government.

REMINDER: Changes to COVID-19 emergency funding for the third sector in Wales

The Welsh Government and WCVA have announced that the Voluntary Services Emergency Fund, which has awarded almost £7.5million to voluntary organisations in Wales, will be changing in August to reflect the changing needs of the sector.

VSEF in its current form will be closing to applications on 7 August 2020 at 5pm. From 17 August 2020, the new phase of grant funding will become available to help the sector address the challenges now arising as we move into the recovery phase of the pandemic.

REMINDER: COVID-19 Homelessness Response Fund - deadline 3rd August

The deadline for funding applications for the Comic Relief element of the COVID-19 Homelessness Response Fund (i.e. the part relating to Wales) is the 3rd August

The funding aims to provide emergency financial assistance to local homelessness organisations, preventing closure, service cuts or staff redundancies threatened by increased operational costs and a loss of fundraised income due to the Coronavirus. It will also support organisations that have needed to expand or adapt their services in light of COVID-19 to support people experiencing homelessness safely and effectively.
