Welsh Government: Changes to Health Protection Regulations from Monday 14th September

The Welsh Government has announced several changes to the rules about social distancing and the use of face coverings which take effect on Monday 14th September. The First Minister has published a written statement outlining these changes and the reasons behind them.

As a result the following pieces of gudiance have been updated:

Caerphilly local lockdown

The Welsh Government has updated its guidance and FAQs about the Caerphilly lockdown.

Welsh Government: COVID-19 vaccine update

The Welsh Government has published information on a COVID-19 vaccine, why its important, when it will become available, who will get it and how it works. 

Welsh Government: Minimising the risk of coronavirus in workplaces and premises open to the public

The Welsh Government has updated its guidance for workplaces about their responsibilities in minimising the risk of COVID-19. 

NHS COVID-19 App: Guidance for businesses and organisations

The Welsh Government and UK Government are encouraging businesses and other organisations to prepare for the roll-out of the new NHS COVID-19 app and have published brief guidance on this issue. s

According to the UK Government website the following organisations should create a QR code and display posters:

  • a business, place of worship or community organisation with a physical location that is open to the public
  • an event which is taking place in a physical location

Technical Advisory Group statement: Testing patients prior to hospital discharge to care homes

The Welsh Government's Technical Advisory Group has published a consensus statement on the impact of single vs double testing of patients prior to discharge from hospital into a care home.
