Welsh Government COVID-19 guidance

The Welsh Government continues to update its guidance about the rules in place to protect people in Wales from COVID-19. 


COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in the UK

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has approved the first COVID-19 vaccine for use in the UK.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has also published advice on the groups that should be prioritised for vaccination.

The Welsh Government's Minister for Health and Social Services has published a written statement about COVID-19 vaccine deployment in Wales. 

The Welsh Government has also published guidance about the COVID-19  vaccination programme in Wales. 


Information leaflet: Keeping Wales safe this winter

The Welsh Government has published an information leaflet about how people in Wales can keep safe and stop the spread of COVID-19 this winter. This includes an easy read version, a large print version and a BSL video. The Welsh Government has also published the leaflet in over 30 different community languages


Technical Advisory Cell: Summary of advice to Ministers

The Welsh Government's Technical Advisory Cell has published a summary of its COVID-19 advice to Ministers from the 20th November and the 27th November


COVID-19 mass testing in Lower Cynon Valley

The Welsh Government has announced that mass testing will take place in the Lower Cynon Valley from 5th December 2020 and the Minister for Health and Social Services has published a written statement about these plans. More information, including links to the relevant local authority websites, can be found here


COVID-19 guidance for the festive period 

Last week, the Welsh, Scottish, NI and UK Governments announced UK-wide measures for the upcoming festive period. The First Minister has also published a written statement about these measures.  

The Welsh Government has published guidance on making a Christmas bubble with friends and family, as well as advice for people who were in the shielding group


Welsh Government: New guidelines for hospital visiting during the pandemic

The Welsh Government has published revised hospital visiting guidance about how the NHS can support hospital visiting in a safe and planned way during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Minister for Health and Social Services has published a written statement about this issue. 


Temporary visitor ‘pods’ for care homes

The Welsh Government has announced that temporary ‘pods’ are being provided to care homes across Wales to better facilitate visits over Christmas and the winter months. Welsh Ministers have also published a written statement about this pilot scheme and testing provision to accompany it. 


COVID-19 skills, training and employment provision

As part of its COVID-19 commitment, the Welsh Government has published guidance about free advice and support available for people over 16 to help them to find employment, education or training.
