Update: COVID-19 guidance from 12th April 

The Welsh Government has updated the following guidance in line with changes to restrictions from 27th March:

All of the sector-specific COVID-19 guidance is still available on the Welsh Government website, including housing and homelessness guidance, VAWDASV guidance and social care guidance. 


Written statement: First Minister

Last week the First Minister published a written statement which confirmed the changes in restrictions from 12th April and also set out further steps to ease restrictions from 26th April and 3rd May. 


COVID-19 Wales situational report: 8 April 2021

The Welsh Government has published a situational report prepared by the COVID-19 Intelligence Cell and the Health Protection Advisory Group on 8 April 2021. 


Technical Advisory Group advice and reports

The Welsh Government's Technical Advisory Group/Cell has published a series of advice and reports for Ministers over the past two weeks:


Adult household contacts of adults with severe immunosuppression to be offered COVID-19 vaccination

The Welsh Government has announced that it has accepted Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation’s advice that people over 16 who live with individuals with severely weakened immune systems should be offered COVID-19 vaccination as a priority. 


Getting your COVID-19 vaccination

The Welsh Government has guidance about how to contact your health board to request a COVID-19 vaccination if you think you have been missed.

Vaccine reserve lists 
Some health boards have set up reserve lists for people who are willing to have their vaccine at short notice:


Lateral flow self-tests available for people in Wales who cannot work from home

The Welsh Government has announced that people who cannot work from home are being encouraged to access lateral flow self-test kits as they are rolled out across Wales.

From 16 April, people can pick up self-test kits at certain testing sites. Each person can collect 2 packs of 7 LFD self-test kits for home use. You do not need an appointment. Test centres are open for collection 7 days a week. Find out more on the Welsh Government website.

The Welsh Government has also updated its guidance about how lateral flow tests work and their role in Wales' national testing programme.
