We have two fantastic opportunities to join the Cymorth policy team.
With the recently published Ending Homelessness Action Plan setting out the Welsh Government’s ambitions to transform homelessness services in Wales, there has never been a better time to work at Cymorth Cymru. As the representative body for providers of homelessness, housing and support services in Wales, we are one of the Welsh Government’s key partners in the development of policy and legislation, and we have an exciting few years ahead.
Our Policy and Communications Officer and our Policy Officer (Housing First and PIE) will play a vital role, helping us to engage with our members, develop policy and shape the future of homelessness services in Wales. If you’ve got a passion for making a difference and have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, then this could be a fantastic opportunity for you.
The Policy and Communications Officer will work across the full spectrum of our homelessness and housing support work, engaging with members across Wales and working with the rest of the Cymorth team to develop policy positions, run campaigns, draft reports and respond to consultations, as well as providing key communications support to the organisation.
Our new Policy Officer (Housing First and PIE) will support the development of Housing First in Wales, an internationally renowned model for ending homelessness for people with experience of entrenched homelessness and co-occurring trauma, mental health and substance use issues. You’ll also support our members to develop Psychologically Informed Environments by establishing a new community of practice with our members and helping to draft policy and good practice reports.
A single recruitment process for both roles
We are running a single recruitment process to fill these jobs, as we’re looking for similar skills and attributes for both. Each candidate will only need to fill out one application form but will be considered for both roles – and you can indicate your preference on your application form.
Benefits of working for Cymorth Cymru
We are a small, friendly and supportive team offering a flexible, hybrid working environment. We have an employee assistance scheme with free counselling, offer 30 days holiday in addition to bank holidays, and contribute a minimum of 6% to our employees’ pensions.
Any questions?
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like a chat about either of the roles. Email jobs@cymorthcymru.org.uk and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
