Person A was referred to the Gofal Caerphilly crisis team via Pathways on receipt of a NSP. Person A had previously lived in the property with her parents and grandmother who have all passed away, leaving Person A in the property alone. Person A has severe anxiety and depression and is also prone to self-harm.
Since being referred, Person A now manages their money and accommodation whilst receiving support for their mental health, with plans to attend a Health and Social Care training course and continue to engage with Gofal tenancy support and pathways.
Referred by Merthyr Valleys Homes, Person A was supported by ADREF LTD, LATSS - Local Authority Tenancy Support Scheme (Merthyr Tydfil) as she was in rent arrears and the house was in disrepair.
Throughout support PERSON A was encouraged to continue with a 2nd year in college. PERSON A’s ambition in life was to become a lawyer to benefit her and the 2 children and be able to stand on her own two feet.

Eighteen months ago Lisa Welch was experiencing severe depression. Her illness was having a profound impact on her life and she was struggling to fulfil everyday tasks such as dressing, leaving the house and paying her bills. She was also experiencing physical health issues that were further compounding her mental health problems.
Noddfa Hostel in Colwyn Bay provides temporary, supported housing accommodation for single homeless people and families who are vulnerable and need support. Noddfa is managed by North Wales Housing.
James* had been a carer for his elderly mother, sadly she passed away and her house had to be sold. He had no other family that he could stay with and as a result he became street homeless.
