Adref: Homeless hostel in Pontypridd


Adref run a homeless hostel for twelve residents in Pontypridd, offering three month licences to homeless clients who are referred in from Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council Housing Solutions. The hostel is funded by the Supporting People grant.

Shelter Cymru

Bethan is a mother of three children and suffers from Depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. When she came into contact with Shelter Cymru, Bethan was in rent arrears and at serious risk of losing her home. With the help of her support worker, Bethan was able to address her financial issues and improve the quality of life for herself and her family.

Tŷ Golau, Clwyd Alyn Housing Association

Tŷ Golau in the centre of Rhyl is managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association and provides accommodation for single homeless men and women who are over 18. Tŷ Golau offers 4-6 beds of emergency access accommodation, 4 longer stay hostel beds and Housing First support to clients in their own homes.

Tracey* was referred to Tŷ Golau when she was made homeless after being evicted from her flat in Rhyl.

Cadwyn Housing Association

Nightingale House is a 26 bedroom homeless hostel for families, run by Cadwyn Housing Association. 

Rebecca* was referred to Nightingale House as a result of being evicted from another hostel in Cardiff. Prior to this Rebecca spent the past few years staying in hostels and being street homeless.
