Case Studies

Case studies are a great way to raise awareness of the services delivered by our members. We are always looking for case studies that emphasise the importance of these services and the essential support they provide to some of the most vulnerable people in our society. If you have any case studies you would like to share on the website, please email them to Jordan Brewer

Cadwyn Housing Association

Nightingale House is a 26 bedroom homeless hostel for families, run by Cadwyn Housing Association. The aim of the service is to help tackle homelessness in Cardiff by providing a temporary, safe and supportive environment to families that enables them to address issues and increase their skills and confidence in their ability to manage their future homes and lead settled and happy lives within their communities.

Sharon* was placed at Nightingale House as she was fleeing domestic abuse from her husband of 8 years.

The Wallich

My name is Kerry Manning and I’m a former client of the Wallich in Park Street, Bridgend. I came to live in Wales from Northern Ireland in July of 2010 through domestic violence. When I first came to Wales I was in Women’s Aid for seven months before I got my own property for me and my two children. I was extremely lonely and my children were living in squalor as I couldn’t afford to decorate or buy things for my home, I was in a desperate state of depression and had no one to turn to.
